Scope of the self-audit

The review covered the customer-facing commerce journey, including catalogue and product presentation, search and filtering, product selection and customisation, cart behaviour, checkout, customer consent, fulfilment selection, payment-method selection, pricing and order-total presentation, promotional interfaces and order submission.

Dark-pattern categories reviewed

The self-audit considered the dark-pattern categories applicable to the current AURA Commerce experience, including false urgency, basket sneaking, confirm shaming, forced action, subscription traps, interface interference, bait and switch, drip pricing, disguised advertisements, nagging, trick wording, SaaS billing and rogue malware.

Audit conclusion

Based on the platform implementation and customer journeys reviewed as at the audit completion date, the self-audit did not identify a dark pattern requiring remediation before controlled production use.

Customer payment, consent and order actions remain subject to explicit customer action. AURA Commerce does not currently operate customer recurring-payment collection, sponsored catalogue placement or a separate consumer platform fee in the ordinary Merchant checkout.

Ongoing review

AURA Commerce will repeat the self-audit annually and will also perform targeted review when a material change is made to checkout, pricing or promotional presentation, customer consent, payment choice, subscription or recurring collection, advertising or sponsored placement, ranking, or other material customer purchase interfaces.

The next annual self-audit is due no later than 1 October 2027.
