Platform Transparency
AURA Commerce provides digital commerce technology used by independent Merchants to present and sell their own goods or services. This page explains how catalogue ordering, search and customer payment choices currently work on the shared AURA Commerce platform.
On this page
1. Catalogue Ordering & Search
Within an individual Merchant storefront, the default catalogue order is based on when an item was last updated, with more recently updated items shown first.
Customers may change that ordering by selecting an available sort option such as name from A to Z, price from low to high, or price from high to low. When the customer selects one of those options, that selected criterion determines the catalogue ordering.
Text search currently matches the Merchant's item names and item tags. Category, stock-availability and minimum/maximum-price selections operate as filters that restrict which catalogue items are displayed rather than giving a paid or preferential ranking advantage.
2. Cross-Merchant & Sponsored Placement
AURA Commerce does not currently provide a cross-Merchant search or discovery experience that ranks competing Merchants or sellers against one another.
AURA Commerce also does not currently provide paid or sponsored placement within the ordinary Merchant catalogue. If sponsored placement is introduced in the future, it must be clearly identified to users and the applicable transparency disclosures must be updated before use.
3. Payment Methods
The payment methods available for an order depend on the applicable Merchant's configured options and are shown to the customer during checkout before the order is submitted.
- Online payment: where enabled, online card or UPI payment is processed through Razorpay and the applicable payment/banking network.
- Direct UPI: where enabled, the customer pays the Merchant's configured UPI destination and the Merchant verifies receipt before the order is treated as payment-confirmed.
- Offline / pay in person: where enabled, payment may be collected by the Merchant at delivery or pickup and recorded in AURA for order tracking.
AURA Commerce does not currently offer customer recurring or subscription payment collection through the ordinary Merchant checkout.
4. Charges & Order Total
The customer checkout displays the applicable order amount before submission, including the item amount and applicable Merchant-configured tax, delivery charge, discount or other order component supported by the checkout.
AURA Commerce does not currently add a separate consumer platform fee to an ordinary Merchant customer purchase. Merchant platform billing and the Merchant's AURA billing wallet are separate from the customer purchase amount.
5. Payment Issues & Disputes
Payment reversal, chargeback or dispute rights depend on the applicable payment method, bank, payment provider, card or UPI network and applicable law. Customers should first retain their order and payment references and contact the applicable Merchant for the underlying purchase issue.
For an online payment processed through Razorpay, Razorpay's customer support and grievance information is available at Razorpay Support.
A consumer may also use the AURA Commerce Consumer Grievance Redressal process where the issue concerns AURA platform records, processing, escalation or coordination.
